Our Mission

Latino parents from ELAC founded the Ballet Folklórico de Castle Heights in the fall of 2003 to enhance the cultural and educational environment of the school. Participation in the group has provided children with the opportunity to personally explore their heritage. Public performances have served to educate the community about Latin America and its many rich and diverse cultures. Of equal significance, the Ballet Folklórico has inspired greater parental involvement in school life. While currently a group dedicated primarily to Mexican dance, the group hopes to expand its focus to include dances from all ethnic groups represented in the school.
