The teachers, administrators, and staff of the Los Angeles Unified School District believe in the equal worth and dignity of all students and are committed to educate all students to their maximum potential.
Castle Heights is a learning community which derives energy and inspiration from our diversity and our similarities. School, family, local community and business partners collaborate to create a clean, respectful, nurturing environment to support academic excellence. Our rigorous academic program, infused with the arts, technology, physical, and character education, develops the whole child. We provide students with multiple ways to learn, differentiated instruction, and lessons that are culturally relevant. Our learning community fosters effective communicators, independent learners, and creative problem solvers.
Castle Heights Elementary is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school in the Hamilton High Complex. It is a culturally diverse, socio-economically blended, Title I Academic Achieving school with a targeted assistant program. Students who are eligible for Targeted Assistance through Title I are identified through various assessments but primarily norm referenced local and state tests, and their qualification is based on their lack of proficiency in English Language Arts or Math.
We are a LEARN School under the auspices of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Our school is committed to developing the whole child, striving to foster independent learners, creative problem solvers and globally responsible citizens.
Castle Heights is a multicultural school community that prides itself on fostering success for all students. Our diversity is an educational strength. The school provides a rigorous educational program to its 626 students with an ethnic population of 42% Hispanic, 25% White, 23% African American, 6% Asian, 3% Filipino and 2% Pacific Islander.
