Hello, Castle Heights Graduates and Welcome Back to
School!
There are many ways for alumni to stay active and
involved with Castle Heights. We have activities
throughout the year and you should always feel that
the doors are open to you and your family. Our big
auction and fundraiser, the Castle Heights
Carnivale, is coming up on March 24th, and is being
held at The Mark on Pico. There will be dinner,
drinks and the opportunity to bid on amazing trips,
services, merchandise and more. All proceeds will
benefit the students of Castle Heights! For ticket
information, please visit:
www.castleheightscarnivale.com.
Volunteers are always welcome to return to school to
share an hour or two by reading to the children,
helping out with art projects, lending a hand in the
office or garden. If you have the time, we would
gratefully accept whatever talent you would like to
offer. Please contact our alumni liaison to see what
may fit into your schedule: Kymberly Israel ki1@sbcglobal.net.
As you can imagine, with all the budget cuts we
receive from the district, the success of Castle
Heights relies heavily on fundraising and donations.
All donations are tax deductible and goes to our
parent-run, nonprofit organization: Friends of
Castle Heights. With these donations, 'Friends' pays
for everything that the LAUSD does not: Art and
Science Education, Physical Education, the Gardening
Program, the Computer Lab, the Teacher's Aides'
salaries and much, much more. We need to raise about
350,000 to keep these vital programs going, so all
year round we offer ways to make donations. If you
would like to help these programs by making a
donation today, we would gladly accept it with
gratitude! Contact Treasurer Lisa Robinson at lisamommy@gmail.com
with any donation-related questions.
Another project we are interested in starting is a
Castle Heights Alumni scholarship. We are looking to
start a fund, possibly funded by an interested
alumni, that will benefit a recent graduate who may
just need a little financial help. We really try to
instill a sense of family in our current student
body and that doesn't end after graduation. If you
would like to be involved with the planning of this
unique alumni scholarship project, please contact
Lilli Lee at lillijlee@yahoo.com.
Thank you so much for visiting this page. There are
always interesting things happening at your old
school Castle Heights, so please continue to check
back to see what's coming next. We'd love to see you
there!!
